PhD fellowships

Postgraduate programmes in India
Under a joint TWAS-S.N. Bose programme, science master's degree holders from developing countries, other than India, may pursue a five-year PhD in physical sciences at the S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, in Kolkata. Deadline: 20 September. More

Postdoctoral fellowships

NCP Postdoctoral fellowships in Pakistan
PhD holders from developing countries, other than Pakistan, are invited to apply for a postdoctoral fellowship under the joint TWAS-National Centre for Physics, in Islamabad. The fellowship lasts 6–12 months. Deadline: 30 August. More

Postdoctoral programmes in India
Postdoctoral positions in the physical sciences are available in India, through a TWAS-S.N. Bose joint programme. PhD holders from developing countries, other than India, are eligible to spend 6–12 months at the S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Science in Kolkata. Deadline: 20 September. More

Visiting scientists

TWAS Fellowships for Research and Advanced Training
Early-career scientists from the global South may spend 3– 12 months at a research institution in a developing country other than their own to enhance their research capacity. Deadline: 7 October. More

TWAS Visiting Expert Programme
Institutions and research groups from Least Developed Countries may establish long-term links with leading experts in the natural sciences, except for physics and mathematics, to develop capacity-building. Deadline: 7 October. More

Cooperation visits under TWAS-Sissa-Lincei programme
Research laboratories or industries in Friuli Venezia Giulia (Italy) host MSc and PhD students from developing countries who wish to develop a research project or undergo training regarding any of the UN SDGs. Deadline: 14 October. More
